A Bit of This & That

Why Romance?
  • For a book to be classified as a romance, and not just a love story, means it must have a happily ever after (HEA) or a happily for now (HFN) and the romance must be the central theme of the book, not just a romantic element. That's what I like to see in my books - I know when I pick up a romance that the couple will end up together, it's just how they'll get there is the fun part for me.

  • 'Hope, Love, and Magic' is my tagline because those are the three things I like to read about most in a novel. No matter how bad things get, I want there to be hope that it will end well (& of course, in a romance novel it does), so that means there is love. And lastly, I love a little paranormal element to keep things interesting.

Where did you get the idea for magic people?
  • Because of my love of Nora Roberts' trilogies I knew I wanted to write about contemporary people in an urban setting, but include magic. The concept for the In Magic series changed a lot before I even wrote a word. Then, as I wrote the first book and learned what story structure was all about, I changed the book again and again. I wrote that first book six different times until I came up with what is now Lost In Magic.
